Sexual harassment accusations had another major impact on careers yesterday. In a New York Times report, five women claim Louis C.K. asked them to watch him engage in lewd behavior.

After the Times story was published, HBO cut him from a comedy benefit it plans to broadcast on Nov. 18 and the premiere of his new movie was quickly canceled.

The Times also reports that “four women said Roy Moore, the Republican nominee for a U.S. Senate seat in Alabama, had made sexual or romantic overtures to them when they were teenagers.”

Alabama.com writes ”Allegations that Roy Moore had a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl has rocked the state, placing the former Alabama Chief Justice and ’10 Commandments Judge’s’ bid for the U.S Senate in jeopardy.”

WAIT IS OVER FOR SWIFTIES: TAYLOR’S ‘REPUTATION’ HAS ARRIVED

T. Swift’s sixth album hit the download services overnight — though it won’t be streaming for another week — and while her fans are absolutely eating it up, Billboard reports that the critics pretty much like it, too.

Reputation, Swift’s sixth album, arrived as expected on download services overnight and immediately began dominating social media chatter, the vast majority of it overwhelmingly (fanatically) positive. Music reviewers from Rolling Stone and USA Today to the U.K.’s The Independent and The Guardian and other titles also gave a warm reception to the new release.”

TODAY IN A TWEET

Veteran’s Day is officially tomorrow, but some are enjoying a day off today. Either way, Twitter is all about it:

Another day, another college dealing with Greek life hazing and assault accusations. The University of Michigan’s Interfraternity Council suspended all social activities and pledge terms yesterday, according to multiple reports. The action comes in the wake of reports of sexual misconduct and hazing.

Those allegations include: “claims of sexual misconduct cases involving fraternity brothers, six incidents of reported hazing, more than 30 hospital transports for students during the weekend of the football game against Michigan State as well as seven called during Halloween weekend, an unauthorized ‘Champagne and Shackles’ event — in which dates at a party are handcuffed to one another until the two people finish a full bottle of champagne – which transpired this past weekend, multiple allegations of drugging members in undisclosed fraternity chapters and three specific hazing allegations reported this week where fraternity members were put in alleged near-death situations,” the Michigan Daily reports.

Are you one of those people who starts playing Christmas music the day after Halloween? Well, you might want to take it easy this year. A clinical psychologist in confirming that too many xmas carols may actually hurt your brain.

“People working in the shops at Christmas have to tune out Christmas music because if they don’t, it really does stop you from being able to focus on anything else,” Linda Blair told Sky News. “You’re simply spending all of your energy trying not to hear what you’re hearing.”

A British researcher agreed, telling the Daily Mail that “the first few times your hear Christmas music can put you in the holiday spirit as exposure to seasonal music can link to positive feelings. But once the same songs are heard constantly, they will trigger a negative response in the brain.”

OK, phew. That was a quite a week. We could use a couple of days off, right? Good, we’ll see you back here on Monday. And be safe, K?

And remember, you can use Uloop to find a part time job on your campus, connect with a tutor or get a head start on housing for next year.
